I can only speak to the tracked machines but the CTL80 is quite popular around here...not as much power as the asv but they definitely hold their own..the hydraulic controls seem alot more snappy and more responsive than the ASV RC100...going from one to the other makes for a few minutes of learning curve.
I priced a new one last week and almost had a heart attack! I know another guy that has one and had same problems.
We have a Gehl 5635 that has been a real workhorse:thumbsup . The main problem we have had is that the lift arms develop slack and rub the cab and the hoses.
Checked with the dealer here in town, I can get into a slightly used (150 hrs) Gehl, 90hp, 8000lb machine, 2 speed, loaded for $26000 Canadian. The deciding factor for me would be how close the dealership is for you for parts.

I was wondering if any of you had any experiences (good or bad) with Gehl skid steers. This is a great price, and so far reading reviews online, seems to be a really good skidsteer, yet you don't see a lot of them around, so does anyone use them?
THey are a whole different animal than a standard skid loader. It mostly happens on a worn set of tracks though. ALL NEW MEMBERS READ THIS FIRST!!

i have done snow removal with a gehl 5640 for 3 years as well as grading and masonry and it is a great machine. Any opinions? Ive found that a standard skid steer on steel OT tracks will do a bit better in rough and muddy ground. We use them literally daily.
nelsongm , Jul 22, 2005 I used a Gehl MODEL 5640E Turbo 2 speed this winter for snow removal it has plenty of power to use a bucket on it. A Manitou Group Brand. I think for that kind of money I will but a 3-4 year old machine and keep my old one as a back-up.
